When the opportunity arose to be involved in the electrical and electronics fit-out of the very first WallyRocket71, we jumped at it — and we’re proud to say that Django has now hit the water with serious intent.
Built at King Marine in Valencia, Django is a cutting-edge performance yacht from Wally, designed to excel on the racecourse with unmistakable styling and innovation throughout. From the outset, the project was spearheaded by navigator Bruno Zirilli, who brought Osprey Technical in to deliver the full electrical and electronics package.
High Performance, Low Compromise
The brief for the WallyRocket71 was clear: build a no-compromise racing yacht that balances performance, aesthetics, and advanced systems integration. For us at Osprey, this meant delivering a lightweight, robust, and race-ready electrical and instrumentation system — without adding unnecessary weight or complexity.
Our work on Django included:
Complete electrical system design and installation, tailored for inshore racing
Integration of a state-of-the-art FaRo navigation system, trusted by top racing teams for its precision and performance
Communications systems to support both racing and safety requirements
Advanced battery and power management systems, optimized for reliability and efficiency
Close collaboration with King Marine and the yacht’s technical team to ensure seamless integration
Built With Intent
As with all our raceboat projects, the challenge lies not just in the specification, but in the execution. We worked closely with the build team at King Marine, as well as with Django’s onboard and shoreside crew, to ensure that every wire, screen, and sensor supports the crew’s need for speed and clarity.
We’re proud to see Django on the circuit and look forward to following her performance across a busy race calendar in 2025 and beyond.
